ASPIRE Leadership Institute Celebrates
Graduating Cohorts 5 & 6 on September 21, 2026

Nashville, TN. — 55 Metro Nashville Police Department officers and professional support staff, hand-selected for their leadership potential, graduated as Cohorts 5 and 6 of the ASPIRE Leadership Institute during a ceremony at Bridgestone Arena.

ASPIRE is a four-month leadership development program focused on communication, accountability, emotional intelligence, collaboration, relationship building and community engagement. 

ASPIRE stands for Agile Workforce, Social Trust, Peace Officer, Inspiring Our Team, Relationship Building and Ethical Culture, reflecting the qualities the program seeks to strengthen across MNPD.

The Alliance is grateful to InteraWorks, the Best Year Yet Foundation, the Dettwiller Foundation, Frost Brown Todd, Gibbons, Barge Design Solutions and the YMCA of Middle Tennessee for generously providing conference space, parking and other support for the ASPIRE Leadership Institute. About ASPIRE

ASPIRE — which stands for Agile Workforce, Social Trust, Peace Officer, Inspiring Our Team, Relationship Building, and Ethical Culture — is a collaborative initiative created by the Tennessee nonprofit InteraWorks in partnership with The Alliance and the MNPD.

This intensive four-month program is designed for officers of various ranks who have been hand-selected by their supervisors for their leadership potential. The curriculum is delivered through six in-person sessions and six virtual sessions featuring collaborative learning circles.

By focusing on the transition from tactical policing to model people leadership, ASPIRE emphasizes community connection through empathy. Ultimately, the program empowers participants to achieve its core mission:
